Bio

Theanne Griffith, Ph.D.

Neuroscientist and Children’s Book Writer

I am a neuroscientist, mother of two, and children's book writer. Originally from Virginia, I currently live in New Jersey with my family. As a scientist at Columbia University, I study the sensory neurons that allow us to feel bodily sensations, such as touch and temperature. When I am not working in the lab, I enjoy spending time with my family and writing. As a writer, I hope to spark an interest in science within young readers. I am especially in love with children's literature because the opportunities to ignite the imagination are limitless. I am eager to harness all my experience in science writing and channel it into the children’s literature world!
